Sorry for the delay in answering. I got the British Food gig which is awesome. I love it and it is demanding but hopefully in time, lucrative. I just enjoy being able to use a vast store of knowledge I have on the subject.

Good luck with your ventures. I love your blog!

Cheers

Congrats. My ex-husband is the coffee writer over there. What topic did you get?
It was lucrative and a great place to work, but after 6 or 7 years writing on the same topic, I was really burned out. I covered one of their spirituality topics, which was even tougher to stay motivated on because my religion became work for me. I still watch the list for new available topics :)

I have just (succesfully) completed the application process for About.Com and have been hired., Yes it is stressful and it is challenging but I actually thoroughly enjoyed the process as it sharpened my writing and I was intensly focused throughout and am so enjoying building the site to go live. I write tons of speculative stuff that never gets a reply or advice and I found the editor I worked with during prep, direct, supportive and encouraging. Maybe I wouldn't have felt this way had I been rejected who knows? By the way, if it is so lucrative, why did you give it up?
