I've been using a new site called blogging zoom: You get a little widget on your blog post - they only do blog posts - which others can vote for if they want (shameless self-promotion follows!)
http://www.midlifetravel.com/blog/2007/11/04/starting-to-plan-a-rtw-trip/#more-8
Its only been running a few weeks and is so far dominated by online marketers - but its starting to bring me traffic in a completely unrelated niche! You are encouraged to submit your own posts as well as others but as part of the submission process you have to write about 50 word comment which puts off the spammers!

I think it's a shame too. What a great idea, especially since I love to browse around looking and finding new sites anyway :) Have you found any other traffic exchange systems that work in the same way?

I think BE is pretty much dead; no one seems to be getting approved anymore, and the new owners don't even want the forum used for anything that might generate activity. It's a shame, really; BE was great when I first joined a year and a half ago...
